Sport Offering Summer Semester 2017

The sport courses for the winter semester 2016/17 start, unless otherwise specified, in the second week of lectures and end in the last week of lectures. The payment of the sports courses is due upon registration! Registration is strongly recommended for insurance reasons!



Endurance run is about weekly training in the group.

The number of users is limited. The access is possible only with the keys that will be raffled off at the end of the semester for the next semester. Registration dates are communicated to students via circular mail.

You can apply for the winter semester 2016/17 until 05.10.2016 via e-mail.

Fee per semester: 30 € for students plus 20 € deposit for the key

Additional offer: JOY-fitness and health center

The JOY fitness and health center offers all interested students to an individual membership. The range of services includes classic equipment and free weight training, circuit training, a varied program of courses and a sauna. There are different packages, services can also be booked separately.

Hoki-Ryu Iaido is an ancient Japanese sword school of the 16th century. Beginners practice with wooden swords, while more advanced use a blunt metal sword. First you will learn the basics of the correct drawing of the sword, several punctures, cuts and blows.

After that, various traditional individual forms are practiced, combining different techniques in a sequence together.

Jiu Jitsu

Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art of unarmed self-defense. It offers a wide range of possibilities for self-defense and - among other things by reinforcing the character and self-awareness - also for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

Zwei Karate-Kämpfer auf der Matte

Karate is a martial art for the unarmed self-defense. The essence of karate is not to decide victory or defeat, but to promote the development of a behavior, physical and mental obstacles in sporting activities. The course will be conducted from Karateverein Schmalkalden.

The Karate Club Schmalkalden eV offers you besides the traditional karate training (Kata, Kihon, Kumite, Bunkai), also the way in addition to the competition-oriented karate with.

Spinning is an indoor cycling fitness program from the United States. This cycling of the road will be relocated to the gym. For newcomers Indoor Cycling is an excellent start to the endurance training. It increases the physical and mental well-being of participants. The group is cycled under the guidance of an instructor to music. Group dynamics and rousing music ensure that indoor cycling will never be bored. The music is in this exercise a fundamental element because it replaces mountains, descents and flat sections, which can not be taken into the studio from nature.
