DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., this year's Club S
 peed Dating Event will take place in the Lecture Hall Building. A variety o
 f clubs and associations from Schmalkalden and the surrounding area will be
  participating, representing fields such as sports, social engagement, musi
 c, and the arts.\n\nThe aim of the event is to further strengthen the conne
 ction between the university and the local community while encouraging inte
 ractions beyond campus life. Both German and international students should 
 not only gain professional opportunities but also become socially involved 
 in the region through local clubs and associations. As Fabian Amborn, the d
 istrict mayor of Wernshausen, puts it: "Anyone who has moved to the region 
 and wants to become part of the community cannot overlook the local clubs."
  The speed dating event offers the perfect opportunity to make new connecti
 ons, discover new hobbies, and become actively involved in life in Schmalka
 lden beyond university studies.\n\nInternational students, in particular, o
 ften find it difficult to connect with local residents and establish friend
 ships outside the university environment. This event is designed to give st
 udents the opportunity to get to know local clubs and learn more about thei
 r activities. At the same time, the participating clubs have the chance to 
 recruit new members and engage with young adults from both Germany and arou
 nd the world.
