Bernhard Schellberg is Professor of Business Administration, Corporate Restructuring. He joined the Faculty of Business Law in February 2000.
In 2018 Babes-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca decided to confer the title of PROFESSOR HONORIS CAUSA upon Professor Dr. Schellberg for his prestigious contribution to the development of the German line of studies through: Outstanding professional and didactic skills in motivating and guiding students; remarkable commitment and high scientific level in didactic in research activity; and valuable publications in the fields mentioned above.
In 2016 and 2017 Beijing Foreign Studies University appointed Professor Schellberg as "DISTINGUISHED EXPERT".
Schellberg is liaison professor of Konrad-Adenauer foundation and supports as alumni successful studies of Adenauer-scholarship holders.
Schellberg received a scholarship of the program for outstanding students (Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung) and graduated in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) at Muenster University. In 1993 he finished his dissertation "Insolvenzprognosemodelle” (Financial Ratios and the Prediction of Corporate Bankruptcy), and obtained his Dr. (summa cum laude) from Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt, Germany.
He was Assistant Lecturer at University Muenster and at University Eichstaett-Ingolstadt and received professional experience in banking (corporate banking, corporate restructuring) before joining University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden.

His papers have been published in various scientific journals. Schellberg has additionally published several books. Schellberg’s book, “Sanierungsmanagement” (Berlin 2017), brings together the latest developments on turnaround and business rescue from an academic, judiciary and turnaround practitioner perspective.
In 2016 and 2017 Schellberg taught “International Financial Management” at Beijing Foreign Studies University. He also is teaching since 2008 at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The courses lectured include the following:
