Application and Enrolment Process
If you study at one of our ERASMUS+ partner universities, you may want to complete one or two exchange semesters at Schmalkalden University as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. In this case, you will first need to apply internally for a place at our institution through your exchange coordinator. Your coordinator will then nominate you for an exchange place via our institutional exchange coordinator, and once we inform you about that you need to send the completed enrolment form to us at t.correia(at)hs-sm.de by May 31st for the following winter semester or by November 30th for the following summer semester, respectively. After the application deadline we will send you additional useful information as well as the letter of acceptance, which you might need in order to apply for a visa if you require one.
Upon successful registration at our university you can start to actually prepare your stay in Schmalkalden. An important part of this is the learning agreement that you have to provide. Choose the courses you would like to participate in on our website. Be sure to discuss suitable classes with your ERASMUS+ coordinator at your home university. We ask you to provide the learning agreement for the semester start when no further changes to the schedule are to be expected. It will then be signed by your respective departmental coordinator at Schmalkalden University.
Furthermore, there are a couple of documents that you need to bring with you to Schmalkalden. These are:
- 2 passport photos
- 6 copies of your passport (just photo page) or EU identity card
- Copy of university entrance qualification
Important: If you plan to study at Schmalkalden University as part of a double-degree agreement with another university, you need to mark the respective field on the enrolment form. Additionally, you need to provide the enrolment certificate from your current university.
