Laser material processing (RessFBBM)

Subject of research

  • Control of cleaning laser erosion processes (CW and USP laser sources as well as ps and f laser pulses) on contaminated surfaces of semi-finished products (e.g. ceramic, plastic, metal) in production.
  • Detection of contaminants (e.g. oils, greases, cleaning agents, scale, paints, etc.) and inhomogeneities on the surfaces using multimodal/multispectral AI-based inspection systems.
  • Development of a control algorithm based on machine learning methods for the targeted and performance-adapted removal of contaminants.

Results

Concrete determination of the type, strength and location of surface irregularities and surface adhesions and their elimination during processing by laser ablation processes using multimodal sensor technology.
