Understanding // Explaining // Creating

As we all know, there is a magic in every beginning, a sense of wonder and amazement. Scientific research also begins with this curiosity: be it about the elements and forces that hold our world together at its core, be it about the movements of the stars above us, or be it about the relationships between us humans. Science tries to understand, interpret and improve our world on a large and small scale, near and far.

Curiosity is already the driving force behind the next generation of academics. In order to give young researchers a space to present their projects and discuss them together, the Young Scientists' Conference was launched 25 years ago. Over two days, research projects from a wide range of disciplines are presented in lectures and posters, theses are debated and ideas and approaches are exchanged.

Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences invites all young researchers and interested parties to take part in the conference on 20 and 21 May 2026 and visit the south of Thuringia for a program that is as rich as it is varied. The presentation of the research projects in various formats will be just as much a focus as the joint, interdisciplinary exchange.
