Project Q-Schaum
Object of research
The aim of the project is to develop a simple test method for evaluating a foamed component during production so that subsequent rejects can be minimised.
- Development of a test method based on vibration excitation to map the cell quality.
- Determination of the foaming condition over the wall thickness and the entire component.
- Early detection of faulty components.
- Demonstrate suitability in industrial production.

- Development of demonstrators
- Investigating the parameter influences on the foam structure
- Characterise and qualify foam structure with selected sensors and adapted measurement technology
- Providing proof of function
- Analysing simple and complex foamed plastic components
