As part of the “Zukunft Ukraine” project, a group of Ukrainian students have recently traveled to Hamburg, Germany. This trip offered the students the opportunity to explore the city's distinctive combination of historical significance, cultural richness, and modern advancements.
The students visited several prominent landmarks, including the renowned Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall, famous for its innovative design. In HafenCity, the group explored sustainable urban development, while a guided tour of Hamburg's Historic Centre highlighted the city's historical and cultural significance.
The group also visited the International Maritime Museum, where the students learned more about Hamburg’s maritime heritage, and toured the Kontorhaus district, a testament to the city’s architectural development. Finally, the Ukrainian students had the opportunity to explore Miniatur Wunderland, the world’s largest model railway exhibition.
Diana Dorda, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics at the Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, shared her gratitude and impressions following the trip: “I enjoyed this trip to Hamburg a lot and I am really thankful to everyone who organized it for us. This city during the Christmas season is really magical. I was also curious to find out more about the history and culture of Hamburg during the city tour and museum visits. Overall, the trip was really nice, productive and recharging with energy.”
This trip was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
