Events for first-year students
(I) Introductory events
In the introductory events held by the five faculties you will receive all the important information on topics such as the course of studies, timetable, study and examination regulations, etc. In small groups you will get to know your fellow students, the university and its various facilities, such as the library.

(II) Welcome Days
During the first week of the semester, we offer some informative and social events for our new international students, whether they are joining us for a full course of study or just for a semester or two as exchange students.

(III) Matriculation Ceremony
Traditionally, all new students of the University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden are personally welcomed by the President, the student representatives and representatives of the city of Schmalkalden at the matriculation ceremony in the Audimax.
