Free search engines and subject databases in Economic Sciences and Media (organized by the Ilmenau University Library)

Description: In this seminar we would like to show you which free search engines you can use to search for scientific information and which search options are available (especially Google Scholar).
We also take a look at some of the AI tools that can help in the search process (e.g. Perplexity AI).
We will also introduce you to the most important subject databases in Economics and Media Studies (Business Source Premier, Communication and Mass Media Complete, Nexis) and give you an insight into the citation databases (Web of Science, Scopus).
The basics of good research are only touched on in passing..
