Would you like to study at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences? Great! You can apply for all Bachelor's and Master's degree programs conveniently online via our application portal - no paperwork by post. (Exception: university transfer students).
This is how the application works:
1️⃣ Registration - You will receive your user ID and the activation code
2️⃣ Create application - Fill out the online application
3️⃣ Select semester of study - Usually the 1st semester
4️⃣ Upload your degree certificate - plus other required documents
5️⃣ Examination - Your application will be reviewed, You will receive feedback
6️⃣ Admission - If your application is successful, you will receive notification of admission
7️⃣ Enrolment - After paying the semester fee and submitting the required documents, you are officially enrolled

All Bachelor's degree courses at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences are admission-free. What does that mean?
✅ Admission-free degree courses - There are no restrictions on places here, which means that if you have a valid university entrance qualification and meet the course requirements, you will be enrolled directly. You can find information about specific admission requirements in the overview of our Bachelor's degree courses.
✅ For admission to a Master's degree course, please refer to the admission requirements for the respective degree course.
Your application for a German-language degree program- You need these documents! 📄
To ensure that your application to Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences runs smoothly, you will need the following documents:
✔️ Degree certificate (depending on your eligibility for admission)
✔️ The electronic certificate from your health insurance company will be requested during the application process
✔️ Program-related documents (e.g. TOEFL test result for International Business and Economics)
✔️ Exmatriculation certificate (if you were previously enrolled)
✔️ Clearance certificate (for previous studies)

For German Bachelor's and Master's degree programs:

➡️ Summer semester: October 1 - January 15
If the period is extended, we will inform you via news & social media.
For English Bachelor's & Master's degree programs:
➡️ Winter semester (application from February 1)
🔹 Until May 15: Mechatronics & Robotics (M.Eng.) + Applied Computer Science (M.Sc.)
🔹 Until June 15: International Business & Economics (B.A. & M.A.) + Finance (M.Sc. )
➡️ Summer semester (application from 1 September)
🔹 Until 15 November: Mechatronics & Robotics (B.Eng.)
🔹 Until 15 December: All other Bachelor's & Master's degree programs

Note Master's applications 🎓
Fees for certificate examination
Proof of a Bachelor's or engineering degree is required for applications to a Master's degree program. If this degree was not obtained in Germany, it must be checked individually at the university. An examination fee of EUR 50 per process is due for this (amount per application for a degree program). The fee is paid during the application process.
