The "Law of Digitalization" degree program is aimed at future experts who want to provide legal guidance and shape the digital transformation, whether in companies, public administrations, or start-ups. The program focuses on current developments such as the platform economy, data protection, IT compliance, as well as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics.
You will acquire a solid legal foundation in business law and complement it with knowledge of IT law and handling new technologies. A special focus is placed on the legal frameworks governing digital business models, such as the application of current EU regulations like the GDPR, the Digital Services Act (DSA), the Digital Markets Act (DMA), or the new AI Act regulating AI systems.
The program is practice-oriented: in project courses and case studies, you will work on real-world issues in areas such as data protection, Legal Tech, or technology regulation. In the 6th semester, you will complete a mandatory internship, for example, in a digital economy company and deepen your knowledge in practice. Building on this, you will work on a practical project at the intersection of law and technology. Elective modules in the second half of the program allow for further individual specialization.
With the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree, a wide range of career paths is open to you:
– in legal or human resources departments of companies
– as a corporate or public data protection officer or IT compliance officer
– in public economic administration or
– as consultants at the intersection of law, IT, and business.

You can begin the non-admissions-restricted degree program in Law of Digitalization with a general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), a subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification, or an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife).
The degree program imparts legal, information technology, and economic fundamentals tailored to the requirements of the digital society. In addition to sound subject-specific and methodological competencies in business and IT law, digital key qualifications and social skills are specifically fostered. The focus is on practical preparation for responsible roles at the intersection of law, technology, and administration, such as in data protection, IT compliance, or digital enterprises.
The seven-semester full-time degree program leads to the degree "Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)". The "Law of Digitalization" program combines legal, information technology, and economic content, consisting of:
