Last week, an international conference on current legal, economic, and regulatory issues surrounding artificial intelligence was held in the lecture hall building at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. The conference focused on the European AI Act, the practical implementation of AI compliance, and new financing and business models for AI companies.
With presentations by Stefanie Kurz, in-house counsel at Schaeffler AG and General Counsel for Digitalization; Prof. Dr. Eduardo Goulart Pimenta from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil; Keter Fernandez Torres from Proindex Capital AG; and Prof. Dr. Karsten Löw, the event offered a wide range of insights from both academia and practice.
The numerous participants had the opportunity to discuss current developments in AI law and engage in conversation with the speakers. The conference highlighted the significant interest in the legal and economic challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
The event was organized by Catharina Wassink as part of the WORTplus project and by Ian Leao, whose exceptional dedication contributed significantly to the conference’s success. At the conclusion of the event, participants received a certificate of attendance.
