The Society of Friends and Supporters of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences (GFF) has supported the university for many years, thereby making an important contribution to the advancement of student studies, teaching, and international exchange.

One example of this commitment is the support provided to the university’s International Office: Each year, the GFF allocates funds to assist international students with their integration and successful start at the university.

Since 2021, the International Office has also been awarding merit-based scholarships of 500 euros each to particularly dedicated students using funds from the GFF. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as well as exceptional social or community involvement and are enrolled in German-language degree programs at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.

In 2026, a total of eight students received such a scholarship. The recipients come from India, Egypt, Morocco, Ukraine, Ecuador, Mexico, Malaysia, and Afghanistan, representing the international diversity of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.

The motivational scholarships are not only a source of financial support but also a valuable recognition of the students’ achievements and dedication. For international students, they serve as an important source of encouragement to continue pursuing their academic goals, actively participate in the university community, and develop their skills for the future.

Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences extends its heartfelt thanks to the Society of Friends and Supporters of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences (Gesellschaft der Freunde und Förderer der Hochschule Schmalkalden e.V.) for its long-standing support and ongoing commitment to its students.
