After the four Thuringian state universities of applied sciences (HAW) had already met with the local staff councils and representatives from research and teaching at the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences to exchange views, they met again. On August 20, representatives from the universities’ administrations met.
The goal was to work together to better align university administrations with current and future challenges and to strategically advance the further development of these administrations. In addition to exploring opportunities for cooperation and leveraging the diverse skills of staff members, the focus was also on collaboration in the area of digitalization to strengthen Thuringia’s universities of applied sciences. The participants share a common understanding of shaping the further development of university administrations through a participatory process while adopting a forward-looking perspective.
The inter-university dialogue will continue and be further developed in the coming months. The shared goal is to develop new approaches for ensuring that university administration remains efficient and service-oriented, and to strengthen the exchange of ideas on key issues for the future. In this way, the participating universities aim to provide important impetus for shaping their administrative structures.
