Students and staff from Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences presented their Mars robot at the 1st Thuringian Aerospace Day in Jena.
“We had many insightful conversations with other participants and were able to generate a great deal of interest in our work,” said Niranjan Kannali Ramesha, a research assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. “The discussions with the other participants have opened up excellent opportunities for future collaborations.”
The event was attended by approximately 300 representatives from companies, research institutions, and the political sphere.
Just last September, 20 students from Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences successfully competed with their Mars robot at the European Rover Challenge in Krakow. The international competition was organized by the European Space Foundation and took place at the AGH University of Krakow. Teams from all over the world gathered there with the planetary rovers they had developed themselves. Graduate and staff member Swaraj Tendulkar knows that all participating students share a passion for space exploration and a curiosity to discover and try new things.
