Tape-Ball Cricket Rules (Location: University Football Ground)
1. Teams (Depending on registration or how many we can manage)
● Each team consists of 7 players.
● 1 substitute allowed per match (can field but not bat unless a player is injured).

2. Overs
● Each match consists of 6 overs per side.
● Over distribution: 2 / 2 / 1 / 1 overs per bowler.
● Maximum of 2 overs per bowler in total.

3. Ball and Tape
● Only a tennis ball with tape is used.

4. Bowling
● Only round-arm bowling is allowed.
● No over-arm deliveries; height above shoulder is not permitted.
● No bouncers (balls aimed at head) for safety.

5. Batting
● All players can bat freely. No restrictions on singles or strike rotation.
● Free hit awarded after a no-ball (overstepping or illegal delivery).

6. Fielding
● Fielding rules apply according to the ground.
● Substitutes may field but cannot bowl or bat unless substituting for an injured player.

7. Extras & Penalties
● No-ball: Free hit to follow; any runs scored are counted.
● Wide ball: 1 extra run, ball re-bowled.
● Dead ball: Ball is declared dead if it becomes unsafe or gets stuck in the grass or outside the boundary.

8. Scoring
● Runs: By running between wickets or hitting boundaries. (Running area will be finalised after selecting the ground)
● Boundaries: 4 runs if the ball touches or crosses the boundary after hitting the ground; 6 runs if the ball crosses the boundary on the full.

9. Substitution & Injuries
● Substitution allowed only once per match.
● Substitution cannot bat unless replacing an injured player.
● Substitution can field freely.

10. Conduct & Safety
● Helmets and pads are optional but recommended.
● Aggressive or dangerous play is prohibited.
● Respect umpire decisions — the umpire has the final say.
