Tunisian-German Winter School 2025
Call for applications for scholarships within the framework of the DAAD project
"Ta'ziz Partnership for Democracy Programme, Line 2:
Short Measures 2025, with TEK-UP in Tunisia and
Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences in Germany"
As part of the above-mentioned programme we are able to offer scholarships for participation in the venue “Tunisian-German Winter School 2025: Digital Future 7.0 – Citizen Science Approaches as Nucleus of Interconnected Change Management in the MENA Region”. The event will take place in Tunisia, probably in the city of Hammamet, between 24 and 28 November 2025.
Supported by the DAAD and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt), this Winter School brings together highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students from Tunisia, Morocco and Germany. The aim is to explore how Citizen Science can drive digital transformation and sustainable change management in the region.
The scholarships attempt to cover all expenses that arise for mobility and stay resulting from the partici-pation in the event. The call is open to duly enrolled students at SUAS, TEK-UP, or Ibn Tofail university, with priority given to those studying subjects related to the seminar’s theme and proving engagement in social & civic activities. Applications from female students and students with mobility restrictions are especially encouraged. Exchange students are not eligible, nor are those who have previously participated in an edition of the Tunisian-German Winter School. For German participants, departure from Frankfurt to Tunisia will be on November 23. Full attendance at the event is required.
The closing date for applications is 03.10.2025. Documents submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
Application requirements:
- Good to very good academic performance
- Good to very good knowledge of English
- Significance of the participation in the event within the framework of the studies.

- Language certificate (if available – if not, declaration of language level)

The applications are evaluated by a selection committee consisting of representatives from TEK-UP, Ibn Tofail and Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.
The awarding of the scholarship is contingent upon the receipt of funds from the DAAD.
